Thr3e by Ted Dekker Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

A Great Read That Is a Fable at Heart Thr3e by Ted Dekker is a fast-paced mystery and psychological thriller. The location where most of the story takes place is in the Long Beach area of California, but for a few pages the setting is also in Texas. The main characters are Kevin Parson, Jennifer Peters, Richard Slater, Doctor John Frances, and Samantha Sheer. The beginning sets the theme of the story with a discussion between Kevin and his mentor, Doctor John Frances, which is centered on man removing himself from the reach of evil. The whole story is centered around a maniac, Richard Slater, who threatens Kevin with a bomb that was placed in Kevin’s car. This bomb would go off if he did not confess to his “sin” and make it known to the newspapers in three minutes. Slater also gives Kevin a riddle, “What breaks but never falls? What falls but never breaks?”, to help him discover his “sin”. The conflict leads to Kevin saving people’s lives by using the cryptic riddles from Slater while trying to discover his “sin”.
