World War 2 is considered the most destructive and deadly war ever fought. Yet even after Hitler's suicide and Germany's surrender, the war was not over. The Japanese army still wouldn't admit defeat. The Japanese were a strong people willing to fight till it was no longer possible. It may even be said that they were suicidal, with their kamikaze pilots and no real hope of defeating the allied nations. The country in a whole had faced starvation and the collapse of their industries and transportation systems. But still Japan was stubborn and held true to their declaration that the only course of action for Japan, was to fight. The possibility of an atomic bomb was first discovered in 1939 and many countries went ahead on trying to create the first. Though Germany was one of those countries, the United States was the only one to put enough resources behind the creation of the atom bomb. Two bombs were developed by the efforts of The Manhattan Project, which was a collaboration between the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other European physicists.
