The common law was produced by judges and it would be recorded only in the records of a courtyard case.

Judicial precedent is when a judge is trying a murder case, where they will need to look at similar cases that has occurred in the past to see how it was dealt with and what was the sentence given.
What effect does statute law have on common law?
Statute law has more authority compared to common law. Therefore, statute law has more effect over common law as it has to go through parliament before it goes to statute law.

The law was introduced by the Normans, where people who owned land made the laws. The feudal law existed before common law.

Henry introduced common law by using his power. Only royal courts could try criminal cases involving the ownership of freehold property
