Deutsche Brauerei is a Germany based brewer of light and dark beer. With twelve generations of the Schweitzer family in its background, Deutsche Brauerei has been a consistent winner of numerous quality awards. In 1994 a fire ruined all of the brewing machines, causing the company to purchased new equipment which resulted in a new, higher production capability, 1.2 million hectoliters. This new production possibility remained unused until 1998, when Deutshe Braurei decided to expand into Ukaraine, a relatively large market with a strategic location. Through a network of independent distributors, Deustches beer became an overnight success because of its full-bodied, malty taste. To manage this new emerging market, Lukas Schweitzer, managing director of the company, hired Oleg Pinchuk from a major Ukrainian beer company. He has managed to increase customer accounts and set up warehousing on a small budget.
