Today’s society is one that is based upon propaganda and has always been affected by the written word. The words written and read are believed to be true only because they have indeed been written. By not knowing any better, society is forced to believe the history we read in text books and archives is true. The people of a society are also forced to accept what they hear on the radio and news papers as true because we have no way of knowing any thing more about the world than what media feeds to us. The Bible as one of the most distributed literary pieces is the greatest example of believing some thing just because it is written down. There is no way to verify or disprove the Bible. Even to know what was actually written considering how many times it has been translated and rewritten is difficult to know. When you read a historic book there is no way of knowing that what you’re reading is actually what happened.
