Children today are viewing more and more mature content being broadcasted over the airwaves. Parents nationwide are complaining about this content that their children have been viewing on television. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is the target of most parents complaints. Parents have no way to ensure that their children are not watching shows that contain more mature content, although the FCC has already constructed a ratings system to be applied to television programming. The FCC demonstrates too much lenience by broadcasting explicit material over the airwaves; therefore, a new rating system is being devised to monitor what and when children watch certain programs based on specific content set by a parental unit.
