A series of qualitative case studies were conducted to examine the adoption of a marketing orientation among business operating in Russia. Findings suggest that Western European Firms follow business practices associated with having a marketing orientation more than Russian owned firm have. Russian owned firms varied depending on the managerial vision of a firms General Director. Russia is a country with a rich culture and a history filled with dramatic turning points. Once again, it is in the midst of far-reaching change. The recent collapse of central economic planning and the move toward a market economy has provided extreme business opportunities and difficulties in Russia.
