We should be trying to prove the existence of a supreme being
I believe that this statement is false, we should most definitely not be trying to prove the existence of a Supreme Being. I have come up with five simple reasons for my negative outlook on this subject.
· First of all, all religion is based on faith. Which is to say that without faith, religion would no longer exist. Religion is a supporting pillar of society and if that pillar was to crumble, society may also fall and with it bring chaos into the world.
· Now we must examine the other side of the spectrum, Atheists (non-believers). If a Supreme Being were proven to exist would these atheist be given a second chance to believe in it? Would they be forced to conform, to believe in this Supreme Being? Is this fair? To look at this from a neutral (neither believer nor non-believer) perspective, I find it hardly fair to ask someone to completely change his or her entire outlook on life. For someone who has believed in the fact that there is no God or Supreme Being their entire life to be forced to know that God ......
