In todays world of sports there are thousands of athletes who get an income that working people working in everyday life would die for. Some of the lowest paid athletes make around one-hundred and thirty thousand dollars. These athletes are bull pen catchers in the major leagues. For millions of Americans, that salary could take several years to accumulate, and there are professional athletes who make that amount in one year. For what? To catch a baseball and throw it back to the pitcher eighty to one hundred times a game? That is how many balls one throws when playing catch with his son. How much work does the really accumulate to compared to a hard working American who works twelve to fourteen hours a day and gets paid an average salary of about forty-four thousand dollars a year? (Blanton) For those persons, it would take them roughly three years to make that, without spending a penny of it. Professional athletes have become the richest people in America for something that many people can do, and yet they still continue ......
