Peoples lives reflect their belief systems and the community to which they belong. Everyone has a different impression about this statement. Some people can say its not true some can say it is. Today I will discuss how this statement is shown to be proven with reflecting the lives of two wonderful women from two different eras. One life I will be reflecting on is the Rebel nun of the 17th Century Sister Juana Inez De La Cruz, a poet and playwrights, but also is well known for being the first person to argue in writing for the rights of women to be educated. I also will be talking about Maya Angelou who is well known for being a great poet and much more. Both these womens lives reflected their belief systems and the communitys they belonged to.
Juana Inez de la Cruz was one of New Spain's most remarkable women. Born near Mexico City, she showed an early love of learning. She persuaded her sisters' teacher to teach her to read when she was three. By the age of ten, she was writing poetry and teaching herself Latin. She became a personal maid to the wife of the Viceroy ......
