Today, television is more censored than any other form of entertainment. Television is full of sex and violence, and the FCC, Federal Communications Commission, are constantly trying to find ways of censoring television. One of the main reasons the FCC censors television is because of young viewers. Should the government be censoring television or should they stay out of it and let the viewers decide what they want to watch? Many people disagree with the government taking over television, but they do believe that entertainment in television should be toned down a bit. In an article by David Ho called Thats Indecent! (Or Is It?), he writes about how the FCC believes that television and radio indecency is an issue of great public concern (par. 2). The FCC basically sits down and watches almost ever TV program and decides what can or cannot be aired. In 2006, the FCC found indecency violations in nearly a dozen TV shows and fined CBS for 3.3 million dollars for airing an episode of Without a Trace that portrayed a teenage orgy (Ho, par 3).
