In the midst of the 1930s the United States underwent a social and economic catastrophe known as the Great Depression. The rich stayed rich, where the middle class and lower class citizens became instantly dirt poor as the stock market collapsed and the U.S. Dollar tumbled in value. One man set out to attempt to bring the nation back from its economic drought, Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States. Roosevelt constructed a series of plans in between 1933-1938 with the goal of relief, recovery and reform of the United States economy. Though some of the programs did not directly benefit the United States at the time and displease certain groups who were being negatively effected, they were all created in an attempt to help, and were not guaranteed.
