World immigration is something which modern communication and technology is affecting in that it is now more evident what cultures and countries are like. Conversely, those who immigrate influence the cultures where they immigrate to as well. People in one country can see through television, movies and other technologies what the culture of another nation or region is like. With immigration, a culture which looked attractive to an immigrant can then be injected with a contribution of a foreign culture from that immigrant. With this happening all over the world, it contributes to a globalization of culture.
The global media has contributed to the popularity of immigration for many, by showing and spreading images of other cultures. Many of these images inadvertently act as a commercial to experience that culture first hand. If a certain culture looks attractive to a person and they have the opportunity to go there or immigrate there then they may chose to do so based on what the media has shown them of that culture.
