The date is November 22, 1963, and President Kennedys motorcade is driving through a parade of people in downtown Dallas. The time is 12:30 p.m. when that motorcade takes a left hand turn past the Texas School Book Depository building where seconds later Lee Harvey Oswald is waiting in the sixth floor window with his Mannlicher-Carcano rifle aimed at the presidents motorcade (Bloomgarden 5). Three shots later and President Kennedy and Texas Governor Connelly are struck by bullets. After slowing down slightly, the Presidents vehicle races to Parkland Hospital where it arrives eight minutes later. At 1:00 p.m., President Kennedy is pronounced dead. These are the main events in chronological order as explained by the Warren Commission about the assassination of the 35th President of the United States (Newseum 27).
