Hong Kong Disneyland opened September 12, 2005. The park is Disney's fifth "Magic Kingdom"- style park, and the company's first theme park in China. It is the 11th park worldwide (the other parks are in France, Japan and the United States). It is by far the smallest Magic Kingdom Park, lacking popular attractions as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and "it's a small world". During the first year of operations, the park suffered with some obstacles but after that it has been fairly smooth riding for Disneyland in Hong Kong. It is currently one of the top three most popular attractions in Hong Kong. The theme park is located within minutes from the city centre on picturesque Lantau Island, and offers the "magical experiences to kids (young and old). The resort, which even has its own Disney themed train and connection to the subway system, comprises three areas Fantasyland, Adventureland and Tomorrowland.
