During January 2006, Cnet news.com reported that Hewlett Packard's Board of Directors met in a secure and confidential place to discuss the company's plans and goals strategies. This leak to the media was the latest one of a series of unauthorized leaks to the press. This led former Hewlett Packard Chairperson Patricia Dunn to order a secret and internal investigation of its Board members. This investigation was done in order to determine who on Hewlett Packard's Board of Directors has been leaking unauthorized information to the media.
The investigation went beyond the Board of Directors. It also included three members of the press from online technology news service CNET and other staff members of The Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.
According to http://boston.com, Massachusetts investigations company Security Outsourcing Solutions Inc. was hired to lead the investigation. Ronald R.
