Foremost, the purpose of this argument is to have an understanding of the origin of one's actions, to grasp the motivation that thrust one to carry out a deed, an action that does not originate from the conscious mind.
Conscious is awareness of the things that one has in a particular moment, one present perceptions, emotions, and feelings. The preconscious is the available memories; it is the things that one can make easily conscious. It is to bring into conscious the thing that you are not currently thinking about. The unconscious is what we are not aware of, and things that have their origin there such as one drives or instincts, and things that are put there because we cant look at them such as one memories and emotions associated with drama. One motivation resides in the unconscious, whether it is desire for food, sex, or killing. One is often force to deny these motives or resist of making conscious these motives which are available in different forms.
