What was Cavour's Contribution to Italian Unification? Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Count Camillo Cavour was a born aristocrat who happened to be a key role in Italian Unification. He was a cult person, who studied and lived the different aspects of life which gave him different points of views and ideas about the different social classes and their demands and opinions. He was trained for the army; he then devoted to agriculture and became a great student of British affairs, and made himself familiar with every detail of parliamentary practice and government in the Stranger’s Gallery of the House of Commons. In addition he studied economic subjects, like the Poor Law, Free Trade, and Railways. This ample and complete background permitted him to reach to high influential positions that would later serve him in his fight for his country’s benefit. As it was evident, Cavour soon began to rise to important occupations and influential positions. In 1847 Cavour had helped to found a newspaper in Piedmont, Il Risorgimento, for what he became its editor.
