Don Quixote Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
In the beginning of the book Don Quixote was insane, he imagined situations so he could act like a knight. Then he had the chance of being a real knight and he didnt like it, he was disappointed. Afterwards he was sad because a knight defeated him and he had to go home, then he got even sadder when he realized that he would never see Dulcinea. Don Quixotes character changes throughout the story; first he was insane, then he was disappointed, and from disappointed he went to sadness.
In the beginning of the book Don Quixote was insane. . "Look, your worship," said Sancho; "what we see there are not giants but windmills, and what seem to be their arms are the sails that turned by the wind make the millstone go(Page 88). Don Quixote wanted to live as a real knight, and he did everything to make it seem like he was living as a real knight. For example he made the windmills into giants so he could fight something. This was the first time he ever seen windmills, so in his desperate head, trying to have a real knight fight, he associated the windmills with giants, and he believed it ......
