The Salem Witch Trials took place in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. Salem wasnt exactly known for the tranquility like in New England. The town was divided into two major parts, Salem Village and Salem Town. The village was the western side and the town was the eastern side.
The witch trials started primarily in 1692 and lasted until May of 1693.
Many people were involved with the witch trials. Bridget Bishop was hung on June 10. On July 19 the following were hung: Sarah Good, Rebecca Nurse, Susannah Martin, Elizabeth How, and Sarah Wilds. On August 19 the following were hung: George Burroughs, John Proctor, John Willard, George Jacobs, Sr., and Martha Carrier. On September 19, Giles Corey was pressed to death. The following were hung on September 22: Martha Corey, Mary Eastey, Alice Parker, Ann Pudeater, Margaret Scott, Wilmott Reed, Samuel Wardwell, and Mary Parker. And these four were not hung but died in prison: Sarah Osborne, Roger Toothaker, Lyndia Dustin, and Ann Foster. One hundred and forty people were accused of witchcraft and they are: Nehemiah Abbot, Nehemiah Abbot, ......
