The main characters in Billy Elliot are all good people but are limited by their circumstances. Billy is a very strong person. He is passionate, caring, determined and loves his family but is also slightly unpredictable and undisciplined. Jacky is a hard, strong man. He has a very macho attitude and is very opinionated but he loves his family passionately and works extremely hard to do what he thinks is best for them. Tony is a wildcard. He is unpredictable, impulsive and has a vicious temper; but he to cares for his family and for his friends. Mrs Wilkinson is the greatest mentor that Billy could have had. She is proud, caring and works hard to help Billy. She has the advantage of coming from more educated background but doesnt segregate herself because of it.
