The Progressive Era was a booming time in which much progress was made for the working man. Many laws that we have today, concerning the welfare and protection of the worker, simply did not exist before the Progressive Era, because there had been no prior need for them. The landmark legislation that was passed during these few years would set the pace for further necessary regulations in order to protect the working class and further the Progressive Agenda. The Progressive Movement included two major points. One is that people must become more socially minded, and the other is, public morality is a necessary virtue in community life and government. Their Agenda was all about adequate government intervention in the economy. This included raising wages for the common worker, limiting immigration, (because this deflated wages) and the passing of other social legislation.
