Hamlet Essay Honour is not only something that simply comes along with a well-known name but is also something that is gained while maintaining respect for those who, in your eyes, deserve it. In William Shakespeares play, Hamlet, the character Laertes represents both dignity and honour throughout his role as a son and a brother. In different versions of the play, these values are displayed in many, sometimes varying ways. Laertes most important relationships are those with his father, Polonius, and sister, Ophelia. However, in his pursuit to honour his family, Laertes also forms a partnership with King Claudius. The first relationship we see Laertes in is with his father.
