Business marketing has definitely been misinterpreted many times. According to Basic Marketing: A Global Managerial Approach, Chapter 1(2004), many people think that marketing means selling or advertising. Little do people know that marketing has a little more to it than meets the eye? Marketing will be further described during this explanation. Personally, I had always thought of marketing as a process that companies use to sell their products on the open market. Ignorant to what marketing really consisted of, I never considered exploring further in to the marketing aspect of business because of the fact that I personally thought business was all the same.
