In all areas of organisations, individuals make decisions. That is, a choice is made from two or more alternatives by all levels of management (top, middle and lower level management). In todays organisations it is imperative for management to identify organisational problems (differences between a current condition and what is desired) and then attempt to resolve them. This process is known as decision making (Robbins et al, 2003). Decision making is approached by individuals according to their way of thinking and tolerance for ambiguity (Bartol et al, 2003).
