I would like to deal with this topic by exploring and writing on what is meant by reason and emotion, their role and more particularly morality as it is understood, the principle and justice incorporated within morality, and I will conclude with my personal opinion. Reason according to the standard dictionary definition is defined as “That which explains or accounts for any fact, act, proceeding or event”. Emotion is defined as “an act or state of excited feeling”, whereas moral means “dealing with or capable of distinguishing between right and wrong in conduct”. I will first deal with reason. The thought process that makes us question and decipher our motives, brings us to make comparisons about what our actions will be and how their end result is employed prior to decision making. Socates supports this in his quote “The unexamined life is not worth living” This thought process is said to be cognitive which is an inborn instinct that develops with experience, learning and exposure to life’s events. This helps us to understand the how and why of our actions. It also helps......
