Kelleigh McNaughton English 9A: Period 2 Ms. Mathews 13 November 2006 Literary Analysis Essay: The Most Dangerous Game The Most Dangerous Game is a short story written by the author Richard Connell. The setting for this story is a jungle filled island named Ship-Trap island. The short story is about a crazy General named Zaroff who buys Ship-Trap island and lures sailors to it for his murderous sport. Zaroff is a psychotic person who lives for the thrill of a challenging hunt for humans, which is actually murder. This story should be banned from schools because it shows inhumanity through the violent and psychotic ways of Zaroff’s game. The dangerous game is actually a sport, a hunt, in which a crazy hunter, Zaroff, is in pursuit of men which shows his violent and psychotic ways. Zaroff believes “life is for the strong, to be lived by the strong, and if need be taken by the strong.
