The effects of the 3 five year plans can be observed from three general areas - economical, political, and social. Although it did make Russia significantly stronger economically and politically, socially there was a decline in working conditions and morale.
The 3 five year plans were a series of nation-wide procedures in which were to rapidly boost Russian economy. Before, Russia was centuries behind every other country industrially and agriculturally using old, out of date methods, but between the years of 1928 and 1942 Russia excelled phenomenally. Inflated numbers aside, there was a substantial loss of morale throughout employment across the USSR.
Economically (the actual reason for the plans) the five year plans were a huge success, they made Russia into an industrial powerhouse with dramatic increases in production. The First Five-Year Plan emphasized heavy industries to lay the foundations for future industrial growth, despite the targets being unbelievably high, remarkable results were achieved, such as doubling the production of coal iron and oil, , and almost triplin......
