The media influences everything in our culture. It reaches people through advertisements, television, radio, Internet, movies, magazines, newspapers, billboards, video games, logos, etc. The media controls our minds through a variety of methods with everything from written words that people find extremely important to images which are much more powerful than people think. One thing the media strongly focuses on is obvious: sex. Sex sells. People want to see it all: desire, sex appeal, lust, seduction and forbidden fantasies. These are all elements that our society craves. When was the last time a movie that didnt include sex appeal received a high rating? Adolescents today are a whole lot more educated about sex than their parents were, and a large portion of that is the result of the media.
