Film Argument Essay on the Sixth Sense Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Dr. King English 102 13 September 2007 With movies these days, it’s hard to find ones that can surprise you. Most the time there are anvil-sized hints that give away a secret way before the end of the movie, and you’re left feeling somewhat cheated. In the movie The Sixth Sense, which was directed by M. Night Shyamalan and released in 1999, the revelation of the doctor being dead was a surprise and a great twist. However, if you watch the movie through again you can see so many hints you’re wondering why you didn’t see it coming the first time. The following will go through several of the hints and their significance to the end of the movie. The movie begins with Dr. Malcolm Crowe, which is played by Bruce Willis, and his wife celebrating an award bestowed upon him for excelling in Child Psychology. He goes upstairs and finds a former patient in his room, very upset. The patient shoots Malcolm and then commits suicide. In the next scene, Malcolm initiates a conversation with Cole, a little boy that has behavior reminiscent of the patient that shot Dr. Crowe. After......
