In recent education research, more and more attention has been paid to self-perceptions (self-efficacy and self-concept) for understanding students¡¯ academic performance in their school studies. It is deemed especially important for mathematics teacher to analyze the role of the students¡¯ self-beliefs on their mathematics attainment. As it was indicated in the Programme for International Student Assessment, ¡®Mathematics self-efficacy and mathematics self-concept had the strongest relationships with mathematical literacy¡¯ and ¡®Anxiety about mathematics was negatively related to performance in mathematics¡¯ (PISA 2003).
