Pea Soup : Gregor Mendel and the Pea Experiment Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

People have known for centuries that children very closely resemble their parental units. However, it wasn’t until the middle of the nineteenth century that one ambiguous monk dared to reason the observations and discover something remarkable. Often known as the “Father of Genetics,” Gregor Mendel was born July of 1822 in the present Czech Republic. Born to a farming family, Mendel had no capacity for agriculture, despite how influential he has become to the field. Gregor Mendel studied zoology, botany, chemistry, and physics. He enrolled at the University of Vienna, but his financial statuses interrupted his studies. Mendel’s then became a monk at the Augustinian monastery in Bryno where he began his experimentation. Before he focused hit attention to peas, Mendel began experimenting with breeding mice.
