Hinduism is a very diverse religion. This religion is much more than a belief system. This religion cultivated on the Indian subcontinent. Hinduism is made up of diverse religious beliefs, practices, denominations, and traditions. Hinduism is the world’s third largest religion after Christianity and Islam. The religion of Hinduism has five hundred million followers and continues to grow daily. Hinduism regulates their beliefs on four basic social classes. Every social class has its own set of rules and way of living. The highest of the social classes are called the Brahman and is considered “the Divine Ground of all things in the universe.” (Wikipedia, 2007) The second class is the warriors and rulers, which are called the Kshatriyas. The third set of classes is the farmers and merchants, which are called the Vaisyas. The last set of classes is the laborers, which are called the Shudras. If one is not in one of the classes of the Hindu religion, one is considered an untouchable. They are an outcast from the Hindu religion.
