With the blink of an eye, exhale of the breath, and the pull of the trigger. All of these can influence how effective you will be in shooting your target. The M-16A2 rifl3 is a 5.56mm, magazine-fed, gas operated, air cooled, shoulder-fired weapon that can be fired either in automatic three-round bursts or semiautomatic single shots. Which is determined by the postion of the selector switch.
Before I started Basic Training, I didnt know how to shoot a M-16A2. As being a typically person, I thought you aim at a target and fire. Unbeknowing to my surprise, it required a lot more work. Being able to shoot at your target was one thing, but being able to actually aim and hit your target was another.
The first key to shooting is learning proper safety. This is the most important step in firing, because in order to be a great shooter, you have to become familiar with the weapon.
