Whatever the case, the facts about certain crimes in America will undoubtedly stun many. Murder is one crime that is very much so publicized in the media especially when the crime is concerning a celebrity. Another crime that has really been glorified by the media is rape. Since the media frenzy surrounding the Duke University rape scandal, the public's attention has turned to sexual violence in America (Carlyle, 2006).
