Causes for the withdrawal of U.S troops from Vietnam
By 1973 the U.S finally ended their involvement with Vietnam, mainly due to the lack of military success and the increasing number of protests from the Vietnamese public. However there are other short and long term reasons to contribute to the Americans withdrawal as well, such as the confrontational media coverage of the war, the attitudes and the usage of drugs from the soldiers serving in Vietnam, and the determination and will power demonstrated by the Vietcong, and the majority of the Vietnamese public. Inevitably all the factors soon interlinked and finally led to Nixon and the government withdrawing all the American troops from Vietnam.
One factor for the U.S withdrawal was the will-power and strength the Vietcong possessed throughout. They were fervently strong-minded as soon as the war began, they refused to sit back and watch the U.S take over; they felt it was their country and that the U.S had no right to decide on Vietnams future, this gave the Vietcong the right state of mind needed to defend their count......
