History Coursework The 1920’s was a period of great change in America. It was a decade which saw the development of mass production, cinema, jazz music and the introduction of prohibition. Indeed, the 1920’s have often been described as “the roaring twenties” a time when life was good for all Americans. To what extent did America roar for all Americans in the 1920’s? This essay is intended to analyse several key developments which affected how America roared for different groups of people in the 1920’s and how America didn’t roar for others. The key developments I am going to analyse are mass production, jazz music, cinema and the introduction of prohibition. The first key development that this essay will analyse is mass production. Henry Ford introduced mass production in the Ford car factory to increase productivity. There was an assembly line which cars which cars would move along. Each worker in the factory would have a separate part of the car which they would fit as the car moved along. The ‘Ford Model T’ was the first car produced through mass production. ......
