The main objective of this experiment is to measure and compare the stem and the leaf organ of a garden bean plant Phaseolus vulgaris as it is grown individually. The stem, which is important for support of the flowers, leaves, fruit, and transportation of fluid between root and shoot, and storage of nutrients, was measured from the epicotyl until it stops growing. The two primary leaves were measured lengthwise as well, and they are for photosynthesis, food and mineral storage, and gas exchange. (Daglish, 1932) Before any gathering of data, the seed must have a transition period through seed germination. What the seed needs to become a seedling is the right temperature, oxygen and water. (Rost, 2006) The first step is germination is an uptake of water, which washes away any inhibitors. The seed also needs the right temperature, and as for the garden bean, it needed room temperature like a warm room away from any drafts or extreme heat. P. vulgaris is very easy to grow; daily watering, warm conditions, and exposure to light is the basic things that this plant requires. When t......
