One of the ongoing debates involves the question of which has a greater influence on our overall development, is it nature or is it nurture? Nature can be defined as our genetically determined behavior, and nurture as the influences of our physical and social environment. It has been said that both nature and nurture are on opposite side, but they both still lye on the same continuum. I have learned that nurture does have more of an influence on the development of our humanistic behavior. What has led me to believe this is the research I read, the environment and people I have been around, and the movie Tarzan, which support my ideas on the subject, Nature vs. Nurture. While not forgetting that genetic tendencies may exist in developing our behavior, in the long run these tendencies really do not matter.
