A Rose for Emily tells the story of a lady whose father was a famous war veteran. The story explains the relationship between Emily and her father and the way in which the town viewed her. The main character’s name is Emily Grierson. She lived in a big house that was once in an affluent, nice area. Emily lived her whole life in that house in the same town. Through the story the author shares the feelings of the town towards Emily and their rejection towards her behaviors. Emily and her father had a very close relationship. So close that her father would drive away all of the young men that ever tried to approach Emily. It seems as the father over protected her, probably kept her at home and did not let her socialize with anyone. Deep inside this hurt Emily and made her very discontent. When her father died, she had no one. After he died Emily tried to cling to the body as if she did not want to let him go. Finally after the town people and authorities came to her house and she agreed to give him a decent funeral. For a while Emily did not go out much, and did not......
