Abstract
Workplace romance is a romantic relationship occurring between two people who work together in the same office, work location, or company. We recognize that workplace romance may not only affect the participants involved, but their fellow co-workers as well. Companies have acknowledged this phenomenon and its possible consequences, and hence this has resulted in more and more companies stepping up on policies to frown on relationships in the workplace. Most of the research conducted on workplace romance has so far been about the participants in the romance and there is a lack of research and validation of research on the impact on the co-workers of those involved in the romance. Our research aims to gather information from local HR professionals and employees to find out workers perceptions on this issue and to determine if there are any effects on the morale and productivity of co-workers.
