Scott Fitzgerald, the character of Daisy Buchanan undergoes many noticeable changes. Our understanding of the character Daisy also develops across the novel. She is portrayed as someone who is only happy when things are being given to her and circumstances are going as she has planned them. Daisy is a symbol of wealth. She is a character we as readers might feel sorry for, but shouldnt. Daisy Buchanan, Born Daisy Fay, grew up in Kentucky, Daisy was always pampered and the center of attention. “She dressed in white, and had a little white roadster, and all the day long the telephone rang in her house and excited young officers from Camp Taylor demanded the privilege of monopolizing her that night,” (79). Daisy is beautiful, rich and appears to have been very innocent when she was a young woman. Later on she seemed to have been the object of every man’s desire.
