MY FAVOURITE FESTIVAL “As the echelons of zillion lights adorn, that echoes of triumph of good and thunder swarm, watching even a tiny gleam perform, devouring ill, sparkling joy, despite forlorn, exhorts a hearty, happy and virtuous year merely born” So, this is what the preamble to my favourite festival is, a mixture of revelry, celebration, festivities and values, for which I eagerly wait for-“The Festival of Lights-Diwali”. This aesthetic festival is celebrated throughout India as a national festival regardless of faith just after the rainy season in October/November and has, off late, turned into a mega affair. There are several beliefs regarding its origin. Hindus celebrate it to mark the welcome of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after defeating Ravana or the day on which Lord Krishna killed Narakasura. Jains celebrate it as the day on which Mahavira attained Nirvana. As per spiritual references, Lakshmi-Panchayatan enters the Universe, the elements of which include Vishnu for happiness, Indra for opulence, Kubera for wealth, Gajendra for carrying wealth and Lakshmi for Div......
