During WWII, Germany was a common enemy to Allied Forces which started with Great Britain and France and ended up with the Soviet Union forming part of it together with the United States of America. After defeating Nazi Germany ruled by Adolph Hitler, the Soviet Union got to Berlin and afterward the rest of the Allied Forces, coming from the opposite side, join them in the destroyed capital of Germany. The four Allied Forces remain with a good relationship after the war as over but not for long. After thinking what to do with Germany, they decided that it was going to be divided into four parts and each part was going to be occupied by one of the countries forming part of the Allied Forces, a decision that started in Yalta. A decision that would turn Germany into the key focus of the early stages of the Cold War.
