Linear communication has more of a sender receiver view that implies that communication between parties will be transmitted in a back and forth method. For example: communicating via e-mail. Transactional communication is uniquely human and is associated with the term communicator. This view allows for the simultaneous use of sending and receiving and allows for the techniques of verbal and non-verbal communication. It promotes activity with others instead of to others.
