Freedoms Challenge Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

What are the challenges of freedom? What can be considered challenging about being free? What does freedom’s challenge mean to you? To me it means the challenges our country has to go through to keep our freedom. Is freedom really free? That is what I used to think. But then I started seriously considering and researching the challenges of freedom and I have realized that there are many very good examples of ways in which our country has had to stand up to those who have challenged our freedom. Three examples of very different types of challenges to our freedom stand out in my mind; those are the American Civil War, the international struggle during World War II and most recently the war against terrorism. The Civil War represents an internal challenge to freedom. During the American Civil War, the north fought the south, brothers fought brothers over a cause which divided the nation, ideologically and geographically.
