The key deciding factor in the future of Europe, Byzantium, and Islam lay with the idea of Christianization. Before Constantine’s victory and conversion, Christianity had been looked on as one of the new mysterious religions. It was considered a religious faction that evolved out of Judea after the crucifixion of Jesus. Christians moved out of the lion’s dens of humiliation, persecution, and death into positions of leadership within the Roman government in three centuries. Events leading up to the collapse of Rome, especially the Western Empire, forged new civilizations. Clashes of cultures outside the Roman Empire began to gradually fuse pagan cultures and Christianity together in Western Europe, isolate Christianity as the only religion in Byzantium, and completely reject fusing and Christianity in Islam. All three evolved into their own distinct culture but all three hold commonalities with the old Roman Empire. All three believed in one God and were inspired by Judaism.
