It is without question that the ability to learn is the most important virtue that any person will obtain throughout the course of their life. There is an old slogan which sums up the idea of education quite well. It states that education is a life long process. What really is amazing about learning, that we do not realize is that it takes place from the moment we are born, until the day we pass on. With that said, there is no more important time period of a childs development than their earliest years at school. Children at an early age, come to class with a unique curiosity, eagerness and a mind that resembles a clean slate, waiting to be written on. It is the role of parents, older family members and educators, to begin to shape these young minds through the fundamental educational process of reading, writing, and comprehending.
