Frankensteins Monster: A Creature or an Outsider? Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
The creation of Frankenstein is hated, alone, and murderous; these qualities make him the outcast that he is. Victor Frankensteins creation is the villain of the novel, according to Victor that is, however, you, as the reader, seem to have pity for him, mostly because of how the narrator portrays him. He is the honest to God, true social outcast, and despite his man-like intelligence, society refuses to accept such a hideous creature. Upon trying oh so many times to gain the favor of humans, the monster finally decides to take all of his bitter and miserable anger out on the non-accepting humans of society, even more so to his creator. In his plot for revenge, the monster kills Victors closest friends and family; in the end, he makes sure that Dr. Frankenstein, his very own creator, was murdered as well.
When I looked around I saw and heard none like me. Was I, then, a monster, a blot upon the earth from which all men fled and whom all men disowned? (105) this shows us how man despised this creature so and would have nothing at all to do with it. He was in this world, alone......
