Hollywood actress and model Shelley lost her first child to a rare genetic disorder called Pena-Shakier Syndrome and suffered several miscarriages following. Desperate to have a child, Shelley turned to others for help. I was her surrogate. What was to be a wonderful experience for both Shelley and I turned disastrous. Late in the second trimester of my pregnancy, through an amniocentesis, it was discovered that the baby I was carrying had a genetic disorder, as well.
